Climb for a Cause

Welcome to my website!

Many know my backstory but for those who do not — in the summer of 2005, following my freshman year at Northwestern and exactly at the age where everyone thinks they are invincible, I suffered from constant migranes that progressed to the point where I was unable to function. After months of trying to tough it out, I was diagnosed at Evanston hospital with a brain tumor and was subsequently operated on by Dr. Tandori Tomita at Children’s Memorial Hospital. The operation was a great success and I’ve had no complications to date over a decade later.

While my operation was a success, I’ve maintained my involvement with Lurie Children’s and currently serve on the foundation board. Lurie Children’s is a huge passion of mine and truly a unique one-of-a-kind hospital that is a huge source of pride for Chicago. Lurie Children’s is located on the downtown Chicago campus of its academic partner, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. It is ranked as one of the nation’s top children’s hospitals by U.S.News & World Report.

A goal I’ve always had in my life is to attempt to climb the Seven Summits:

  • Everest, Nepal – 29,035’/8850m
  • Aconcagua, Argentina – 22,902’/6980m
  • Denali, Alaska – 20,320’/6194m
  • Kilimanjaro, Africa – 19,340’/5896m
  • Elbrus, Russia – 18,513’/5642m
  • Vinson, Antarctica – 16,067’/4897m
  • Carstensz Pyramid, New Guinea – 16,023’/4884m

This is a difficult task that may take many years to complete. So I’m going to be fundraising from mountain to mountain. The ultimate goal is to raise a million dollars for the pediatric neurology program at Lurie Children’s!

On 11/22/2016, I will be climbing and summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the 4th tallest of the seven summits, as a member of Team Lurie Children’s.

Lurie Children’s relies on philanthropic support to fulfill its lifesaving mission. I hope you will support my efforts by making a gift today. Any amount will make a difference! All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation.

You can Click Here to Donate.

With your help, more children can receive the best health care possible and the opportunity to reach their greatest potential. Also for all the Wildcat Fans out there — yes I will be taking a Cubs “W” flag and maybe a Northwestern flag to all the summits!!!

Thank you for your support!
